Wildside Activity Centre

Wildside Activity Centre

We are delighted to announce that we will be supporting Wildside financially this year and have become a Corporate Member with immediate effect. The Centre’s purpose plus aims and objectives are very much aligned to our Social Responsibility policy here at PIA Wealth Management.

Wildside Activity Centre lies just over a mile from our offices. It is a small charity offering environmental and adventurous activities from a wonderful site in a green oasis on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. The Centre has access to woodland, meadow and waterside; all offering ample opportunities for exciting activities from canoeing to den building, to hosting corporate events. It also operates its own narrowboat to provide trips for all ages and to promote awareness and use of the canal.

The Centre’s mission is to provide enjoyment of the outdoors, promoting wellbeing and an underlying appreciation of the natural world for all. Their mantra is “All ages, all abilities – we reconnect people with nature.” This is certainly true with activities on offer for toddler groups as well as to the elderly, all run by a friendly, enthusiastic and expert team of staff and volunteers. Holiday programmes, boat trips and special events are all open to local people.

Wildside is especially proud of its innovative work with people who have disabilities or special needs. They are determined to ensure that additional needs should not stop people being able to get out and enjoy nature. This year they were announced as regional winners of the Big Lottery and ITV People’s Projects and the funding has helped them to provide for many more groups with special needs or long-term health issues.
